BMW MUSEUM SALE, 2011

The interior of the original museum
If you want a spectacular spot to auction BMW cars, bikes, and boats, there could be no better spot than the factory's incredible museum in Munich.  A new wing with constantly shifting LED light-walls gives anything inside an otherworldly air, and the setup with flying bridges connecting various display rooms gives the place a vibe of spaceship-cool.
R67/2 ISDT bike; when BMWs get dirty, people find them irresistible...
The original (1972) stainless steel 'salad bowl' museum is attached, a mini-Guggenheim which now hosts temporary displays, and the occasional Bonhams auction.  [I recall visiting the 'old' museum in 1987, and loving the display of a banked 'race track', peopled with Rennsports, on the curved walls...an effect which was reproduced in the Art of the Motorcycle exhibit at the New York Guggenheim - a case of the 'imitation' museum being copied by the 'original'!].
